Located midway between Revelstoke and Sicamous in British Columbia, Canada, Crazy Creek Resort promises family-friendly fun and adventure. Truly a stay-and- play destination, the resort is set among majestic forests in Eagle Pass, where travelers can explore boardwalks and trails, admire the waterfalls from a 240-foot suspension bridge and soak in the hot mineral pools. Crazy Creek Resort suits a variety of traveler styles, providing accommodation in well-appointed condo suites, modern cabins, and camping spots (tent and RV sites).
We recently had the pleasure of completing a website design for this appealing property that reflects its fun-loving vibe and quality service.
Crazy Creek Resort selected a simple theme for their website that puts an emphasis on images and colour. Landing on their homepage, website visitors are greeted with a full-screen slideshow header showcasing beautiful, professionally shot photos of the property. Animated effects on the overlaid text really make the visual presentation pop, further helping to convey the energy of the property.
Scrolling down the homepage, information is organised clearly under strong headings with bold call-to-
action (CTA) buttons leading to the most in-demand pages - checking availability, exploring the
accommodations and, of course, booking direct online. Site navigation is intuitive through well-
organized content and a familiar horizontal navigation menu.
A very important element of a hotel website design is to ensure the online booking engine is easily
accessible at all times. The "book now" button on the Crazy Creek Resort website is prominently
displayed on the slideshow header, via a separate CTA below the header, and from the suite description
pages. Website users also have constant access to direct online bookings from any other page via a
sidebar booking widget and from the main navigation menu along the top of the page (which sticks to
the top of the screen as the user scrolls).
Another increasingly important element of a hotel website is to convey and promote the local
experience. Crazy Creek Resort does this well through their "Things to Do" pages, which are well-
presented with great images and comprehensive, well-written descriptions and information. Website
visitors don't have to go anywhere else to find out what do in the area.
High-quality images and slideshows are used prominently throughout the site, appropriately illustrating
page content and visually selling the property and stay experience.
The simple theme design is not only great for highlighting the property's beautiful photos, but it
translates to a great mobile user experience too, automatically adjusting layout and menus for a visually
appealing and user-friendly experience on any mobile device.
