The family owned and operated Blue Bay Motel is located in the historic fishing village of Tobermory, Ontario. Overlooking Little Tub Harbour, the property offers water views from every guestroom and puts guests within walking distance of restaurants, dive shops, boat tours, the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry and hiking trails -all that visitors to the area could ask for.
Guests have rated the Blue Bay Motel #1 in Tobermory on TripAdvisor, consistently praising its clean, welcoming guestrooms, great location, thoughtful touches and friendly staff.
When it comes to their website, the Blue Bay Motel gets that right too, and we are proud to have had the privilege of bringing their ideas to fruition.
The responsive design features a simple, clean presentation that makes good use of images and translates into a seamless, visually appealing user experience across devices.
On the site’s homepage, visitors are greeted with a beautiful full-screen header image of the sunset over Little Tub Harbour – much like the view that awaits guests at the property itself. It’s a compelling image that invites holiday-minded website visitors to explore the site further.
Content is well-organized, presented in a logical flow. The homepage gives website visitors a good overview of the property, including a nicely embedded video, and the site is easily explored from there via relevant CTAs (calls-to- action) and the clear horizontal menu, which is always present at the top of the screen as the user scrolls down the page.
The Blue Bay Motel makes it easy for website visitors to book online via their user-friendly direct online booking engine by WebRezPro, which is accessible via prominent CTA buttons on the homepage (overlaid on the header image and at the bottom of the homepage), as well as via the horizontal menu from any page of the website. Website visitors never have to hunt down the online booking engine, no matter where they are on the site when they make the decision to book.
For visitors that aren’t ready to book, or prefer not to book online, the Blue Bay Motel’s website welcomes website users to reach out to the property directly by including the property’s phone number, email address, links to their social media pages, and a link to their contact/directions page in the header of every page. This is an important strategy to catch customers at all stages of their travel planning journey.
We’d also like to point out their excellent Nearby Attractions page, which is conveniently organized by activity and features informative descriptions, image slideshows, and helpful links to activity providers. Including local information on a hotel website is a great way to give website visitors an idea of what they can enjoy in your area while keeping them on your site.
The Blue Bay Motel reassures visitors that their property is the right choice by including trust symbols in the page footer; a linked list of associations that the property is a member of, and a TripAdvisor badge of excellence.
The Blue Bay Motel’s website not only offers a user-friendly experience to website visitors – but to Blue Bay Motel management too. Behind the scenes, the WordPress site includes an intuitive content management system that allows the property to easily update images and written content at any time, making it easy to keep the site fresh and current.
