We recently completed a redesign for Contact Contemporary Music – a hybrid chamber ensemble that brings new music to Canada’s diverse communities. Based in Toronto, Contact enriches and promotes contemporary concert music through public performances, workshops and recordings. This charitable arts organization needed a website that reflected the modern creative vision of the group.

Created with a responsive WordPress theme, Contact’s new website portrays a contemporary cool yet accessible vibe with a simple, clean design. The site’s stylish and dynamic appeal is achieved through high-quality images, modern font and subtle scroll-activated animated elements.

The big, bold and hip hero image portrays professionalism and personality, and compels you to delve deeper into the site to find out more about this group. High image quality is maintained throughout the rest of the home page and site, contributing to the visual appeal of the website and conveying authenticity.

As the viewer scrolls through the site, the navigation menu “sticks” to the top of the screen, accessible at all times without the user having to scroll back to the top of the page. A sticky navigation menu is a simple yet effective way to optimize the user experience, especially for long-scrolling sites that are so popular today.

Because it’s a responsive design, the website automatically detects the device it is being viewed on – desktop, tablet or smartphone – and adjusts layout and content accordingly for the best user experience on all devices.

The website is easy for Contact to use behind the scenes too. The intuitive WordPress content management system enables Contact to update content themselves, whenever they like, whether the event calendar needs updating, recordings or productions need to be added, text needs to be changed, or images updated.
