The Denali Tri-Valley Cabins offer visitors a uniquely Alaskan experience in deluxe log cabins nestled in a quiet wooded setting in Healy, Alaska, 10 miles north of the Denali Canyon. From easy check-ins and impeccably clean accommodations to modern amenities and handcrafted log furnishings, the team at Denali Tri-Valley Cabins is committed to the guest experience.
But the guest experience begins even before guests set foot on the property and so we were excited to work on Denali Tri-Valley Cabins’ website redesign to help mirror their distinctive and relaxing stay experience online.
A Soothing Design for a Quiet Escape
Both the clean visual design and effortless navigation contribute to a smooth user experience, making it easy for visitors to explore the website and get to know what the property is like.
The simple, uncluttered design evokes a quiet, relaxing stay experience, using a light background colour palette, contrasting yet harmonious accent colours (light green and brown), plenty of white space, and fade-in background artwork on the home page that creates visual appeal and a sense of place.
Background mountain artwork creates visual appeal and a sense of place.
When it comes to visual design, every decision is important, from colours and images to layout and font style. The full-screen hero slider on the homepage greets visitors with photos of the cabins in their wooded setting, immediately conveying the rustic yet comfortable stay experience. The classic serif font used for headings throughout the site also helps to evoke a sense of rustic sophistication.
Quality photography of the accommodations and surrounding wilderness is presented in different ways throughout the site (from background images to slideshow galleries), giving website visitors a comprehensive view of what the property is really like. Providing plenty of recent property photos is important for reassuring visitors and building their trust. Denali Tri-Valley Cabins also works to gain website visitors’ trust by displaying a handpicked selection of testimonials and recent award badges from third-party booking sites directly on their home page, as well as a dedicated Testimonials page.
Site navigation is a breeze thanks to well-organized content, a straight-forward, horizontal navigation bar (a hamburger menu on mobile), and prominent CTA buttons placed strategically throughout the site, guiding users to the next step. The home page introduces each major section of the website as you scroll, with CTAs leading to applicable pages for more information.
This is a website even the least internet savvy users can navigate with ease—and that’s the goal every time.
A promotion bar along the top of all pages currently displays a promo code for a discount, immediately alerting visitors to a good deal. And website bookings are easy with a modern booking engine that is always readily accessible at a single click from the main menu, via the availability search widget conveniently placed near the top of all pages, or using the “book now” CTA buttons on accommodation description pages. A modern, easy-to-use booking engine is a must for all hotel and lodging websites.
Using responsive design, the Denali Tri-Valley cabins website provides a seamless user experience on any device. Behind the scenes, the WordPress CMS (content management system) offers the property a user-friendly experience too, enabling them to easily update content themselves.
