We recently completed a website redesign for St. Albert Inn & Suites located in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, on a main route to Edmonton and just 15 minutes from Canada’s biggest mall. This popular full-service hotel serves the corporate, event, and leisure sectors and offers a modern, convenient stay guests can depend on.
The team at St. Albert Inn & Suites are experts at delivering what guests need—but what the hotel needed was a fresh website that echoed their top-notch hospitality.
An elegantly simple design to reflect comfort and convenience
The key to their new design is simple elegance to create a timeless appeal that is both modern and enduring. Lots of “white” space, classic font, a gray and gold color palette, and quality property images all work together to reflect the hotel’s brand and professionalism.
Featuring intuitive navigation, concise written content, and consistent page design, the site makes it easy for visitors to find the right information. The online booking engine is accessible from every page via an unobtrusive yet easily identifiable “book now” button located in the header, ready for guests the moment they decide to book.
The design presents a polished, effortless website experience that translates to a seamless stay experience catered to the guest’s every need.
But it’s also fun! Subtle animation effects on the homepage breathe vitality into the design. We’re talking about the slide and fade-in effects on the menu and other elements as you scroll and the hover animation on the banner text overlay. This property isn’t a tired old highway hotel; it’s a fresh, modern, and enjoyable place to stay!
Using Google Maps 360-degree tour embeds on the Rooms and Banquets pages supports this idea as well. St. Albert Inn & Suites is an up-to-date, excellently maintained property to be proud off and showcasing it through virtual tours of the interior allows guests to try before they buy. Various studies show that virtual tours significantly increase conversions, giving consumers confidence to click that “book now” button.
The simple design translates to a user-friendly experience on mobile too. The responsive website automatically detects and adapts to the device it’s being viewed on (desktop, mobile, or tablet) for an optimal cross-device user experience.
An accessibility widget, which can be hidden by the user, ensures the website is functional for everyone. Through this menu, users can adjust visual elements such as contrast, font size, and spacing to make the website easier to read and use.
Speaking of easy to use, the WordPress content management system (CMS) ensures the website is easy to operate on the back end too, allowing the team at St. Albert’s Inn & Suites to update content themselves.
